FORGET ALL THAT

There are two verses that I want to look at that are in Philippians 3:13 “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have taken a hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what Is behind and straining toward what is ahead”

This is a lot of times why we may feel so stagnant in our walks because we keep thinking of the past whether it be good or bad we cannot dwell on the past because there is a destiny and a future that God is trying to get us to so what I like to say is “FORGET ALL THAT” it is nothing compared to what God has in store for you.

Paul then says in Phillippians 3:18-19 “For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is their shame. Their mind is set on Earthly things.”

What caught my attention here is when Paul said “their glory is their shame.” That made me see that holding onto shame isn’t something that a person does when they are humble, but something someone does when they are prideful. It is saying that God dying for us was not enough and that it was in vain. When we are blood bought children of Christ, there is no more condemnation to those who are in Jesus. We must remember that should acknowledge sin but not let that bring in shame since God died to give us freedom from sin and shame.

If you want to live destiny lives shame has got to go, pride has got to go, and we must set our minds on things above.

"1 Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus 2 For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin death..." Romans 8:1

"1 Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on Earthy things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God..." Colossians 3:1-3

Prayer

Lord you are a God of restoration and you will bring me to the remembrance of what you did for me on the cross so that I no longer have to feel that I live under the law, but I live under the grace. Help me not be in shame and show me where I have had any hints of pride in my heart. Help me see things in a heavenly perspective so that the situation in front of me does not overrule my life because I am will be sure that the as it is in heaven so it will be on Earth. Lord you have been so good to me and I will always remember your light in my life in every circumstance because you already paid the ultimate price for my redemption.
